Bullet and Stone Edging
General Tips and Rules
- When using natural store, lay out stone and match up joints first.
- Use a 1/2" - 1" of sand in the bottom of the trench to help level
the stones faster.
- The top of the edging should always be flush with the soil level and the
top of the hard surface.
- Do not saw cut to make stone joints fill better. A gap of up to 1"
is acceptable.
- Only use a saw to make a flush cute when the edging meets up to a hard surface.
The top of the edging should also be flush with the top of the hard surface.
- Cut the edging to match the angle it meets with the sidewalk.
- When trying to match up the joints of natural store, match the stones carefully.
You may have to use a chisel to knock off a point to make them match better.
- When meeting a hard surface, a straight cut should be made. When the edging
comes in at an angle, a matching angle cut should be made in the edging so
that it meets the hard surface flush.
