Arbors and Trellises

Arbor
  1. Attach a green treated, six-foot 2 x 4 to the outside edge of the legs of the trellis. Use galvanized wood screws to attach and pre-drill to prevent splitting. Repeat this step for the other side.
  2. After attaching the 2 x 4's, slightly dig in the ground to level. The 2 x 4's should be totally burried under the mulch, rock or soil.
Trellis
  1. Create a "T" with two 6' green treated 2 x 4's. Screw them together in five places to prevent warping.
  2. Bury the "T" post with the 4" side facing forward. 24" of the "T" post should be underground with 48" above. Plumb the post and compact the soil.
  3. Attach the trellis to the "T" post with screws in three places. Pre-drill to prevent splitting.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Cedar Trellises use cedar 2 x 4's
White Trellises use white primed 2 x 4's
