Raspberries
Raspberries are available in red, black, gold, or purple varieties
and as Summer or Fall-bearing types.
Raspberries do best in any well-drained soil that is high in organic matter. They do best if planted in the Spring and are available potted or as bare root plants. Space plants about 30" apart in rows at least six feet apart, to ensure ease of access and to allow for growth. Keep roots moist and do not let them dry in the air before planting.
Raspberry canes live two years. Prune out older canes after fruiting. Limit new growth of canes to avoid overcrowding. Prune out the weakest canes.
Fertilize each Spring with a 10-10-10 fertilizer at a rate of one pound per ten feet of row.
