Valentine’s Flower of Love
Anthuriums are the perfect flower for Valentine’s because of its heart shaped flower. Anthurum flowers last a long time and an anthurium plant is a rugged houseplant that can bloom any month of the year. The plants are easy to grow having attractive glossy leafs and beautiful flowers. Anthuriums are members of the aroid family of plants; other tuff plants in this family are Chinese evergreen and dieffenbachia. Anthurium like warm temperature and are often grown in greenhouses even in Florida. Anthurium’s do best in temperatures from 75° to 90°F. Cool temperature will cause the leaves of the plant to yellow, high temperatures may cause leaf burn.

Cyclamen
Anthuriums prefer a course well drained soiling soil with fir bark and perlite added in a 2-1-1 ratio. The plant likes to be root bound so don’t rush to transplant it. Water the plant when the pot is light to the touch. Use room temperature water that has been standing over night. When watering make sure the pot is soaked and excess water is allowed to drain away. They prefer bright light but not direct sun. Fertilize the plant spring through fall using Bachman’s mighty bloom water-soluble fertilizer.
